A. To receive certification in family and consumer sciences (grades 712), the applicant shall:
(1) Complete one of the following options:
(a) Earn a bachelor's or higher degree from an IHE with a major in family and consumer sciences/home economics; or
(b) Complete at an IHE 36 semester hours or more of family and consumer sciences/home economics content course work with a minimum of 3 semester hours in each of the following content areas:
(i) Family and consumer sciences profession;
(ii) Individual, child, and family development;
(iii) Nutrition and food;
(iv) Resource management;
(v) Living environments; and
(vi) Textiles; and
(2) Meet the professional education course work required in Regulation .06A(2) of this chapter.
B. A minimum of 25 percent of the content course work set forth in §A(1)(b) of this regulation shall be taken at the same institution.
C. A minimum of 12 semester hours of content course work set forth in §A(1)(b) of this regulation shall be met by upper division course work.
