A dentist or dental hygienist with a volunteer license to practice dentistry or dental hygiene in the State shall practice only:1) In a dental office;. 2) In a dental clinic;. 3) In an ambulatory care facility;. 4) In a hospital; or. 5) For an entity providing medical care to the poor, the elderly, or handicapped that is operated:. a) By the State;. b) By a local government;. c) By a bona fide charitable organization; or.

10.44.26.13.htm 10.44.26.13. 13 Renewal of Licenses.. Before a volunteer license to practice dentistry or dental hygiene expires, the licensee may renew it for an additional term if the licensee:A. Submits a completed renewal application on a form provided by the Board;. B. Completes the continuing education requirements for an active general license to practice dentistry or dental hygiene in the State;C. Submits proof satisfactory to the Board that the dentist or dental hygienist has donated at least

A dentist or a dental hygienist who has been granted a site-specific volunteer dentist or dental hygienist's license shall immediately surrender the license to the Board if the dentist or dental hygienist ceases to:1) Provide volunteer dental or dental hygiene services at the institution named on the license; or. 2) Be covered by malpractice insurance from or through the institution named on the license.. 10.44.26.15.htm 10.44.26.15. 15 Fees.. There is no fee for an initial volunteer license to practice dentistry or dental hygiene, and there is no fee for the renewal of a volunteer license to practice dentistry or dental hygiene.
10.44.26.16.htm 10.44.26.16. 16 Violations.. Violations of this chapter pertaining to the use of a volunteer license constitute unprofessional conduct and may result in disciplinary action against the licensee as set forth in Health Occupations Article, §4-315, Annotated Code of Maryland.
