10.43.10.01. 01 Scope.. This chapter governs continuing education for all individuals licensed to practice chiropractic in Maryland.

10.43.10.02. 02 Definitions.. A. In this chapter, the following terms have the meanings indicated.. B. Terms Defined.. 1) “Board” means the Maryland Board of Chiropractic Examiners.. 2) "Credit hour" means 1 program hour.. 3) "Licensee" means a chiropractor licensed by the Board.. 4) “Pre-approved provider” means:. a) The State Chiropractic Association;. b) The American Chiropractic Association;. c) The International Chiropractors Association;. d) Schools or colleges accredited by the Council o

10.43.10.03. 03 License Renewal.. A. A licensee shall complete 48 hours of continuing education in the 2-year period before each renewal and provide verification to the Board if requested.B. The licensee shall obtain a minimum of:. 1) 3 hours in approved communicable-disease and sanitary procedures;. 2) 1 hour in diversity education;. 3) 3 hours in risk management; and. 4) 1 hour in jurisprudence.. C. The Board may refuse to renew the license of any chiropractor who fails

10.43.10.04. 04 Accreditation.. A. The Board shall:. 1) Base accreditation and approval of continuing education programs solely upon their content; and. 2) Ensure that continuing education programs are directed toward improvement, advancement, and extension of professional skill and knowledge related to chiropractic.B. 10.43.10.05. 05 Substantiation of Credits.. A. The licensee shall keep accurate records of attendance at approved continuing education programs and be able to substantiate those records upon request.B. The Board shall conduct a random audit before or during the license renewal period to ensure compliance with this chapter.C.
