10.18.03.02.htm 10.18.03.02. 02 Definitions.. A. In this chapter, the following terms have the meanings indicated.. B. Terms Defined.. 1) "Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) has the meaning stated in Health-General Article, §18-201.1(a) Annotated Code of Maryland.2) "Case" means an individual who has been clinically diagnosed by a physician as having AIDS.. 3) "Department" means the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.. 4) "Health officer" means the health officer in each of the 23 counties and
10.18.03.03.htm 10.18.03.03. 03 Responsibility of Physicians.. A. A physician shall report, in writing, a case of AIDS for a patient under the physician's care to the health officer within 48 hours on a form provided by the Secretary and shall include the information prescribed on the form.B. A physician who reports a case shall make available to the Department the information necessary to compile an AIDS case report as defined in Health-General Article, 18-207, Annotated Code of Maryland.

This regulation does not supplant or otherwise modify the physician's obligation to report a case of AIDS under Health-General Article, Title 18, Annotated Code of Maryland, and Regulation .03 of this chapter.C.
